L Straus & Sons LS&S Carlsbad Austria Oval Relish Tray Pink Roses Blue Flowers
Pink roses, blue flowers, green vines/leaves, scalloped edge, gold trim.
8-1/2” x 5-1/4”
Condition: There are many obvious dark spots and the gold trim has obvious wear. There are light scratches and the design in the center has light wear. There are some marks on the back as well as a bit of debris embedded in the glaze. No chips, cracks, or crazing.
More details: The LS&S Carlsbad Austria backstamp was used by L Straus & Sons. A hand painted number is also present – please see the photos. L Straus & Sons was an American importer affiliated with Macy’s department store. The company had their own porcelain decorating factory in Carlsbad, then part of Austria. (Some trivia: Isidor, one of the Straus sons, went down with the Titanic.) Based on historical information, I am guessing this relish tray is pre-World War I.

I ship by USPS, UPS, or FedEx, depending on the weight and destination. If you select USPS Parcel Select, I may change it to one of the other services if it offers a faster shipping speed and insurance. I am pleased to ship to APO addresses.

“Ship To” Address:
To avoid shipping delays and possible added expense, make sure your payment source has your correct “ship to” address. Also, I am happy to ship to a third party, but please be sure to provide that address before making the payment. Address change requests after payment may result in cancellation of the order.

International Buyers

I ship my items in corrugated cardboard boxes, with packing peanuts and bubble wrap.

Returns:
If you are not pleased with your purchase, you may return it within 30 days in “as sold” condition. Please retain all packing material and/or replace damaged bubble wrap with new if necessary, to ensure an undamaged returned item.
